172 exclusive problem!

Can anyone help. Dont think the exclusive is any different than standard 172 electrically but its only done 8k and the trip computer keeps reseting itself to zero. Not only that but its getting increasingly dificult to start the car the battery seems to struggle to turn the engine over and makes a low winning sound. Feels lumpy on tick over too! It had no problems until i took it into renault for its 6k health check. Could they have frigged with something. My thoughts are the alternator/battery, any ideas? Should it be covered under warrenty car was registered may 02.

Will be covered by warranty, unless its the battery at fault. Let renault look at, is probabley best, then if it is something simple get it fixed elsewhere if not under the warranty. Does it get any worse or better depending on whether the car has beem left for a while. I had a similar problem with my punto and it turned out that the boot light was staying on.
