172 ff gearbox

Is it right what i read about the 172 ff gearbox i can out a cup box in the car??

need to be a gearbox from another ff

you can use a cup box, you just wont utilise the speed sensor as it's taken off the ABS. You can't do it the other way round easily

Any 1*2 will be fine on a Ph2 172.

You can stick any JC5 into the 172 providing you check the speedo drive. If yours has a speedo drive you will have to fit a box with a speedo drive. If your speedo is taken off the ABS system you can fit anything. Keep your eyes open for a JC5 129 or a 130. Be careful of JC5 132's & JC5 125's as there for diesels and will mess your gearing up. Whatever you find pm me and i will give you the ratio's and tell you what the box is out of.
