You can have a pas pump that is driven electrically instead of by the belt, or you can have essentially a manual rack that has an electric motor on the column that assists with the turning of the steering wheel.
Don't know of anyone doing the latter but the burpspeed race car has an electric saxo pump fitted IIRC.
basically the problem is i have a shed load of play in my rack atm, so i could just get another hydraulic rack and would be sorted
but my pas has always been pretty shoddy so i was hopein to get rid of the crappy rack and put the electric one in.
so if i rip my rack out where do i go from there.
thanks
you can feel it in both wheels if you hold the wheel and someone wiggles the steering quick there is a fair bit of play and the odd klonk had new track-rod ends other end of tie rod ball and cup joint seems ok cant see any play by eye, you also have to steer to keep
it in a strait line on the road.
there is a adjustment screw on the rack but just made it impossible to turn wheels by hand when jacked up..
all that is left is the rack right??
