172 Front headlight problem

Dear All

The last week or so both of my main beam headlights on my 2001 Y reg 172 have both ran out.

i have been down to Renault to buy the bulbs but they wanted £27 to fit them (yeah right).

Anyway i bought a screw set to try to change the headlights myself, but after unscrewing the three screws i still cant get through to the bulbs to change them,it really looks like i have to take the front bumper off,is this right?

I went down to the local Halfords and they couldnt change the bulbs has they couldnt see how to get tot hem.

Can anyone give me any advice how to get the bulbs on before i get pulled by the cops.

Cheers

Ian

You can squeeze your hand in if you have really small hands. Otherwise you have to take the bumper off.

Thanks Peter

What a stupid bloody design.

Theres no way i can get my hand behind the light fitting,is taking the bumper off a big job.I have seen the screws neat the wheel arch is it a case of just taking these off then.

lol. wonder how many times the words "stupid bloody design" and "renault" have appeared in the same sentence.

To be honest I would just take it to Renault, you will probably need 2 people to take the bumper off and put it back on.
