172 gear box 1.2 swop??

I think 1st n 2nd gear are on there way in my 172, is it possible to put a lower geared box init from another clio for better acceleration? like from a diesel clio or a 1.2? i live in the sticks so top speed oisnt really an issue. any help would be great

i wouldn't have thought the 1.2 box would be strone enough. you would blow it up in no time.

Speak to yozza or fred@yozzasport I know they are developing a 6 speed conversion for the standard gearbox and may be able to give some advice on this

Too big app. But there is a 6 speed conversion as said.

think the actually megane box links up to the 172 engine as the megane is just a turbod F4R, its just the gearbox is massive and its a job getting it to fit, but it doesnt stop fred giving it a go....

nope the 225 box doesn't fit the 172 block, its a narrow block

the engine and box in the picture is F4R T block (wider than an F4R) with the ND0 six speed (its my car too!)


we have a 6speed conversion for the JC5 available
