172 Headlight Probs

Hey, just got my 172 and have an intermittent prob with the headlight.. The O/S Xenon light seems to be intermittent, when its on it is fine and does not go out, but sometimes when I switch the lights on, only the left xenon works.. Any ideas? It seems to be ok when the lights come on automatically... Also it does my head in that when I go through a tiny tunnel on the way to work my lights come on and then go off as soon as I exit the tunnel, which takes less than a second to pass!

To switch off the auto headlight turn the ignition on but dont start the engine, not put the headlights on half, off, on, off and you will hear a beep, auto headlights are now disabled.

There was another person on with the same problem as you, Jay172 (who works for renault) said it was probably the starter pack was faulty.

Take it to renault if its still under warranty.

Im not sure its covered under warranty, The car is a 51 (sept 01) from Trade sales...I do however have the letter from rensault stating that the car is still covered, and I have the extended warranty from trade sales, not sure how much use that is tho!



Think I might just leave the Auto headlights on, I am a sucker for gimmicks even if they are annoying!

starter packs are exspensive so you may get a contribution from renault seeing as your cars not very old.every one ive done has been a faulty starter pack.
