172 Heater not working, Rheostat issue

The heater is not blowing in a mate's 172 (2004, 53 plate). We fired over to Cowdenbeath last night as a bloke was breaking a 53 plate 172 cup, but the resistor module thing he pulled out looked nothing like the one that came out of my mates car.

This is the one out of my mates car which needs replaced (apologies, pics are a bit s**t)

The one out of the cup had wires coming from it, and you could see a resistor as there was no casing surrounding the part, also the pins on the wiring plug were completely different.

Can anyone tell me why the difference? Is it due to the fact that the donor car was a cup model, so we will need to find someone breaking a non cup 172?

Also, if anyone has one for sale, please let me know.

Cheers

I think it's due to cups having manual heating controls, as apposed to digital climate control on the 172.
