172 lowering springs

  Black 1.2 Dynamique (54)
Will 172 lowering springs fit a 04 1.2 16v Clio?
Have found some for sale and am not sure if I can fit them to my car or not

  850 T5. mmmm Turbo!
id say yes.

if you look on motorsportworld etc, youll prolly see that a set of springs covers most clio 'b' models except the cup.

i might be wrong.

Had a look then searched 172 springs on there it only really said that they cover sport models. Anyone know if these 172 springs would fit my 1.2 16v?

The issue is the sping rate. The 172 and 1.2 engines vary in weight quite a bit. So the springs that are listed for 172 only, will be too hard for a 1.2. Eibach do this the other way, their springs are set for all models except the 1.2 and make a slightly softer spring. They will fit but you may have issues with handling.

What kind of issues would you think I would have with the handling? Would I still get a good drop from the 172 springs as they would be much lower then my 1.2 springs, I think the springs give a -25mm drop on a 172

They till fit physically, but is deffo not a good idea to run them as above

also they wont lower much as your engine is lighter then the 172 engine, so you may only get 50% of the expected drooop.

Would it cause problems with the ride?
I though 172 springs were lower already so if these springs are -25mm could that theoretically give me a 40mm drop?

they will fit, but wont lower it, think the front will actually sit higher than when you started.

the front of my car has a coilover-esque stance on standard 1.2 shocks and 40mm eibachs with the 182 engine,, due to the extra weight
