172 MKII 30-70 mph + link

official stats say 6.6 but somewhere on this website their is a article + picture that gets 6.4 out of a 172MKII.

check this link its a good piece of perspective to all people who say clio isnt fast enough, 0-60 for me a rare but the most important for racing about apart from good brakes n stuff is the mid range 30-70 and for 12k your getting an awful lot of performance, nice one!

Brings it home, especially when you see cars like The legendary Escort Cosworth at 6.4 secs as well!! - was a car I always wanted when I was younger.

Also the 0-100 time for an escort Cossie is around the 17 secs mark as is the Cups!!!!

My Golf 150PD is still faster with 30-70 as being 4.6s in 3rd and 5.4 in 4th gear. ;)

The 1.8T Golf is faster on that site than the VR6 which seems a little off especially when they have the 1.8Ts 0-60 being 6.6s which is at least 1 second faster than it is in reality.

That site seems to be accurate at some things and completly off on other things.

Not sure they are quite that quick but I have loads of figures that show they are around that. This is down to the 236lb of torque and also why not many cars manage to pull away from me if I feel like being a little heavy with the right foot:D

More like 250~260lb torque I heard. Remap it though and its 300+lb torque and 200+hp (you are going to arnt you?) to see a Cup/172 drivers face with a diesel keeping with them (on the straights)
