My money would be on the coil pack, see if you can borrow one from another 172 if there is anyone local to you to test

how does it drive mate? see if you can get her above 4k revs and if she jumps into life id be checking the llambda, other than that the coilpack first, then plugs then leads. Any lights on the dash or anything? If it gets nasty throw it down to me and i'll plug it in and should have spares of the above

thats not the easier thing over here, theres only like 6 ph1s over here

and i dont know any of them

:dapprove:

its def not pulling, i didnt want to take it over 4k incase i fucked something up.

no theres no lights in the dash, but my 1st thought was shes not firing on all cyclinders

but there was a bit of a whiff of petrol tho

hate having my car not running right, the only problem ive had with it too :dapprove:

would you have a coil pack cro?

aye iv a couple of coilpacks mikey most parts are interchangeable across the range so doesnt need to be a ph1. I would think there'd be at least some lights on the dash but should be quick enough to diagnose. Going above 4k shouldnt be a problem, unless the car is sticking itself to 2k which leads to other probs, You'll be fine, the petrol will be because its being chucked down the exhaust not being ignited by the spark plugs

thats not 2 bad, there no no lights on the dash at all, there wasnt any lights the last time my car fired on 3 cyclinders (powerwashed the engine bay and water got in the plugs)

its strange because the car was running 100% yesterday

would you be able to sort me out cro?

update

i got the problem sorted, it turned out that one of the spark plug cables had spilt and was sitting off the spark plug.

resealed the cable and put it back together and its running like a dream again.

thanks to cro for being willing to help out.

cheers mate
