172 Oil Change?

Which viscosity oil do you guys suggest for a mk1 172?

I usually use Castrol GTX Magnatec in my cars but some one on here said that bad for some reason....
The manual says to use a 5W-40?

Nothing wrong with magnatec in the right car but I don't think they do a 5W-40. Plus iirc magnatec is only semi-synth, whereas you might be better off with a fully synth.

People on here seem to think the Silkolene Pro S 5W40 fully synthetic is good stuff, which is what I'm going to try soon.
