Hi andy,

The clio 182s and 172s are very similar cars. Most people on here will tell you to go for the best one within budget. I.e if you have 2k to spend you would be better off getting a mint 172 then a mediocre 182. Make sure it has fsh and the cambelt has been done as this is a circa £500 job. If you have more of a budget then the trophy is the ultimate. You should be able to find a nice 182 for around 2.5-3k with fsh and all belts etc done.

I personally would go for a mint 172 cup. Just got that raw edge to it, bit special too. It's annoying tho when people go "it's not a 182 then?" Bloody bugs me coz there's bob all between them all driven well.
Mind you if you want some comforts then maybe a nice metallic burgundy? Met blue or the silver? It's hard tho coz no
Matter which one you get colour wise you always like the colour you don't have lol!

Whats more raw about it? "Bloody bugs me coz there's bob all between them all driven well"

Plus the 182ff has much better seats and a lot more toys.

182ff all the way.

I had this dilemma about 2 weeks ago. I ended up getting a 172 as it was cheaper and as said nothing in it power wise. Comes down to how well the car and engine has been maintained. I would go for a 172 and use the spare cash to make a few changes, unless you find a bargain 182

I see the cup172 like the trophy in the 182, I know there is not a lot in it but it does have some wow facts shall we say, thin glass, no abs, no aircon, no leather , made lighter. Designed more for track use and feel?

The only wow factor from my point of view would be the... "wow, its f**king hot in here" ...in the summer months with no air con.
