hi guys what exhaust manifolds are you using ?

I use a 182 manifold on my 172, with a cat adapted to fit into the smaller gap.

The standard manifolds on the sports are meant to be very good,

Yep they are a 4-2-1 or 4-1 manifold as standard. No point changing them really

182 manifold on mine with choice of a custom made sports cat for mot man, and k-tec decat for me to join to standard 172 back end until I pick up a decent stealth system.

I run a 182 manifold on my 172, only because I figured every little helps... despite the fact that many (much more knowledgeable folk) will say that it provides nothing extra. If anything it makes it easier to change lambda sensors!!

It doesn't gain much but the 182 manifold does make a bit more power lower down which is handy I find on track

I fitted a 182 manifold to mine just because the subframe was off and manifold was off to replace the starter motor - thought I might as well take the opportunity lol

Biggest reason for my change was to make it easier doing the cat / decat swap and the fact my 172 cat was absolutely shagged, it was cheaper to change manifold and have a custom sport cat made!
