172 running lumpy

ive got a 172 phase 2 on a 51 reg, since ive ad it, its been running lumpy, ive change to better leads and sparkplugs, im running on shell v power. i also cant find the fuel filter or ne imformation on it, so ne imformation regardind to where the filter is located on the car would be helpful, thats if there is one.

Wont be the fuel filter, they are fitted to the tank under back seat! and are good for 150,000 miles. Coil pack?

clios are renowned for lumpy idle though.

172 doesn't have them.

lumpy running is usually normal, excessive lumpy running where you can see the rev's rising and falling on a warmed up idle is more to do with a knackerd lambda sensor

im runing bosch super 4s, magnecor 8.5mm red compition leads, the revs dont go up and down, just lumpy, but now and again it does tick over smoother, doyou still think its the coil pack. is the filter around the pump or seperate or external to the tank.
