172 Servicing costs

My 172 is fast approaching its first service and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much I should be looking at paying (if all goes well). I was going to phone a few Renault dealers anyway ang get a couple of written quotes but it would be good to have idea in my head already.

When I phoned Renault to ask how much they said £128 all in..

When I went to pay for it after having it done they said that will be £166 ??? wtf ?

Seems to be about £170 in the affluent south, maybe 20 quid less in the scummy north and midlands, and I think one guy from Australia said A$350.

Bit touchy this morning Rich? I live in the scummy bits as well (Cheshire is only 20 minutes from here) They may have a lot of money in Cheshire but some have obviously pawned their sense of humour to get it...

Not much, i change oil and filter by myself and it cost me ~ £22 oil (elf 5w-40), ~ £6 filter, what else could they give me in servis for + £150?

Plus Im worried that the monkeys at the Garage might decide to thrash my car round the block a couple of times.

Should I expect them to need to drive it any distance at all? (except in and out of the service area obviously)

Well i just booked Thomas in for his 12k service with my Renault dealer:

Him: do you want the air con looking at?

Me: hmmm well yeah

Him: Ill do that for £100 for ya love.

Me: hmmm ok, are you an official renault service place?

Him: yeah yeah course love.

Heres what I paid for an oil & filter change at 6,000 miles:

Labour £25.00

Oil filter £6.20

Engine Oil £18.00

Total £49.20, plus VAT = £57.81

Just got mine back today and with my 10% discount card for Arnold Clarkm should have been £130 paid got it done for £117. My Front Brake pads are only 50% worn!!!!

Nah, my mates mk1 172 has done a lot of miles and pads lasted ages, even with the odd track day.
