172 stalling problems

Hi just joined and need some help... I bought a x reg 172 few weeks back and it's been sat on the drive for all most a year so I put it through a mot need a little work but not much but the problem I have and would like some advice is that the car runs fine but idled is all over the place and cuts out when pulling up at a junction or turning the steering wheel when parking... some times when it's about to stale the reps jump up to stop it stalling ??? Please advise

Hi and welcome!

It will most likely be either the idle control valve, or the throttle body sticking, both a common problem - i would most likely say ICV as you say the revs jump

Well if put the clutch down it will either but out or revs drop really low then it jumps back up to stop it stalling

could be rither one above, im going to lean towards icv though
