172 steering wheel in a Mk1 1.4rt

Does anybody know if i cud fit a 172 steering wheel into my 1.4rt (ph3 so its already got an airbag!!!) and if i can how easy is it too fit????

I dont know, but I would seriously doubt that it would fit.

The wheel itself might fit, but I doubt that your airbag would fit into the 172 wheel and even if it did it may not fire out of the 172 wheel cover properly. There is also the problem of electrical connections between the car and the steering wheel - I doubt that both wheels have the same type of clock spring mechanism.

do u really have to put an airbag in?? just bolt it on then shove the cover on??
