172 throttle bodies or supercharge

as the title read,s the problem is who can do it ive e-mailed 10 or so firms and realy an no further on,i have the funds and it must be in the south as i live in bournemouth

have you spoken to GMC motorsport, i know they have a healthy supply of superchargers and are willing to take on most jobs

throttle bodies....no need for messing about for months on end with a charger, its ergh......too tight.

there is a place down south called stealth systems or something but i cant find the info......

its more fun when its tight ;)

which is likely to give the biggest gain coupled with the best reliability??

i think that is more of an issue at the end of the day rather than sound

yeah GMC are in scotland, but i have been in Andy Knights s/c saxo and can safely say that is nothing short of amazing

Alrighty then. I live at very high altitude and regularly have a hard time with Golf4 GTI, A3 1.8T ad the like because they are all turbod.

Would Throttle bodies give me the edge again?

I would think a supercharger would do you more help. Dont superchargers/turbos handle altitude better then NA?!

Yes because they dont use air, they use exhaust gases so altitude doesnt matter.

Id still have throttle bodies though, the noise they make is just pure evil

muahahaha!

I would go for the Supercharger if I had the money.

Look at these tuning packs for the cooper S which add an additional 40 bhp to the std. supercharger setup - extra tuning potential. I reckon you would need to ditch the air con. to make space for one at the front.

I remember getting a price for £800 for a brand new unit. Im pretty sure there is a guy on the forum from Europe that has had his 172 supercharged.
