has anyone got one ??? after mine been rrd at the weekend mine showed up as having a different torque curve to the other standard 172s so id like a look at some others please
this is mine and i think i know one of the reasons for slow 172s all the other ones tested had a lul at about 4k for about 500rpm it was just flat where a mine ramps straight back up no flatspot
yours wont be flatter if it was done on a larger curve i dont think mate but on my graph ther is like 1lb ft of torque every like 5 mill where as yours is 10 lb ft every 10mm so all the fine detail is lost on the line so it makes it look smoother
Rich-D - im really ignorant about this, but why would you shift earlier in bigger gears? Also, why would that only apply to bigger gears? I thought it was best to shift when the shift light came on?
Where is the shift light? My mates got a CUP and i dont think he has one?! Im just about to order my 172 so hopefully i should get a shift light and cruise control
The torque curve on my Williams was much, much flatter than those Ive seen for 172s. My old MK2 172 had a curve that was more like a sketch of a mountain range. Might be worth a look at Chrisnnics before and after RSport chip curves. Think the chip gave no more bhp, but smoothed the torque and knocked 0.5 off their 1/4 mile time.
