172 Turbo or 4RS 200EDC with Hybrid Turbo 300hp

Hello, so basicly im planning a project car and i have 2 considerations.

1. Turbo my 172 on low boost and try to run stock internals etc.
2. Buy a 4RS 200EDC and make a full Upgrade turbo,IC,Pump etc build aiming for 300hp.

What would your reccomendation be and why?

Im just scared that the 172 will blow up the box on the boost.

buy a meg 2 and map it to 270 (maybe a bit long in the tooth now) or buy a meg 3 and sit at 300 ish

Both of you options are at wildly different ends of a cost spectrum tbh.

I've had a 207bhp 900kg 172, 310bhp 1100kg MK2 Mégane and a standard MK4 220 Trophy.

They're all good cars but the Mégane was probably the best all rounder. I've driven a MK3 Mégane too, very capable but I preferred the rawness of the MK2.

Track only I'd go for the 172 and daily I'd go for the MK4.

Oops! Typo sorry, nowhere near 1100kg it was about 1300kg
