172 using water

My coolant level keep dropping to halfway after a few days driving!

No Mayo on the dipstick and a tiny dots worth under the filler cap which I put to condensation!!

Cars not overheating and the heaters work fine!
Is this a common thing not the f4r engines??
Any ideas what it could be?

Does it only go to halfway? I was going to suggest a leak but that wouldn't be right if it stops at half way.

Waterpump on the way out? Shouldn't be using that much, get it checked out.

If the pump wasn't right surely it would overheat??

Headgasket was done as it threw a cambelt and had the head rebuilt (I believe) I've spoke to a member on here from another forum and they said it could just be the coolant levelling out as alot if pipes would of been removed!

I remember this happened on my hybrid and tool a good few weeks to settle!
I think for the amount of water I've lost it would mayoed up to high heaven

should only need topping up the once after a good run if the coolant systems been completely drained and re-filled

Get it pressure tested at your local garage,takes 10 mins.

Does it stay at the half way point, or keep loosing it till it's empty?

I've not run it till it's empty

Just topped up and took for a 15 min drive
Temp never wet above half
Oil was fine no Mayo
Coolant is spotless
Heaters worked fine

Leak

If it never goes below half way wouldn't worry, that might just be it's settling point.
