172 Valver out the bodyshop!

my mk1 16v (with an F4R) has just come out the bodyshop!


Here are the before shots of the arches:

so yeh, rusted, bubbled, filler, mismatching paint, the lot! :

all in all, not the best nick!





and here are the after shots from when I picked her up late this afternoon!

pic quality isnt amazing as the sun was just setting so not much light!

very pleased with the result.

It was 'GB Bodyworks' in Canvey Island, Essex who carried out the work. I chose them after seeing the work on another valver he did (wag1's). thoroughly recommended!


loads more pics to come tomorrow i suspect - Paul from the bodyshop also took a load of photos of the 'during' stage, which he said he will email across, so i'll stick those up too

chopped the old ones off and welded new ones on

the inner ones were plated

say i had a mk1 bottom range shell, it is only the rear panels i would need to weld on isn't it?

it's looked odd ever since i've installed the lighter-than-an-f7 F4R :dapprove:

I probably need new rear shocks n all!


and yeh, it's 'only' the rear panels that need doing (and a removable scuttle whilst youre at it tbh), but you might as well get a 16v shell in the first place!

i did mean the lower rear end yer,
thats as i thought then, i would go for a valver shell generally, if it had no sunroof, also i may be getting this one for pittance / maybe free, we will see, it may never happen
