18’s on a Clio Cup

I have just ordered a new Clio 172 Cup and was just wanted to no if i can get the wheels off my old car onto the Clio.

My wheels are 7.5" x 18" et 45 with 215/35/18 tyres. They are off my Megane Coupe. I had a look at the car in the showroom and there looked like there would be enough room.

The wheels are only 3 weeks old so i dont want to sell them with the car when it goes to the dealers.

Any help would be greatful.

I think the answer would be probabily....the offset is quite high, i use 7x17 with et37 (with 205x40x17 tyres) and they are a very tight fit in the wheel arch...

Plus, i think many people would agree, the clio Cup is meant to be a lightweight and very nimble machine, the 18s would seriously affect the handling of the car (i know my 17s do) and the extra diameter of the wheels would also slow the acceleration on it...at least negating all the extra ooomph created by the weight loss more than likely

I would stick with the very nice speedline turinis as standard (i think they are nice and wouldnt mind some)

Why have a car that looks the same as everyone else????? Wack those BAD BOY 18s on there!!!!!! If your not anal about 0.2 sec on yer 60 time and different hadling caracteristics then go for it!!! It may scrub though, some people have had trouble with 17s on 172s and lowering them. My non 172 has no probems with arch clearance and its low (i can have three people in the back no probs) Are you going to lower it????

I went to the dealers today to try a wheel on. Very close on the back but would be ok. As for the front no chance, with the wider track of the car there is no way they would go under the arch.

Looks like the rear wider track is the wheel offset and the front is the offset plus wider wishbones. 7x18s may go on but i think i will stick with the standard wheels for know.

Cheers
