182 1st Birthday - 1st Polish of 2006

Car  106 GTi
While you lot have been snowed in, weather here has been lovely LOL!

182 was one on the first, so it's in the middle of it Birthday clean up, and first polish of the year. Just a couple of quick coats of Autoglym was all it needed really.

Black does not stay clean for long, 5 mins max lol!

I know how you feel! :)

Stunning result mate! What products did you use for that? Was it done by hand?

Cheers - Some by hand, most by PC polisher.

Autoglym Super Resin polish - PC polisher with a polishing pad.
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine - PC polisher with a finishing pad.
Clearkote Carnuba Wax - By hand.

Cheers

Rich

Im going to have to try those products i usually just use megs nxt wax and although it gives good results it looks nothing like that. Been meaning to try that ultra deep shine as its good on black cars. Is a pc polisher hard to use? Would it be risky learning how to use one on my car?

First time I had tried the Ultra Deep Shine on a dark colour aswell. When I first used it on my old car (overa year agao now) I got put off by it, as it wasnt easy on or off, so has sat on the shelf since. Seems to work better on a well polished surface such as over the Super Resin polish rather than instead of which is what I didn in its first use.

PC is very ease to use, using polishing or finishing pads with mild polishes you will find it hard to damage your paint. I tried mine on some other cars first though I must admit lol!

Haha lol there's always my parents cars to test it on!!

Im confused about gloss is it used instead of pure wax? Ive heard you use it after polish but do you wax on top of the gloss then? Me and my mate used some on his civic today after megs nxt wax not sure if thats how its supposed to be used but it a gave a lovely wet look finish. I must of got the cleaning bug now im even helping my mate clean! lol

1 week on from clay barring/Waxing mine last weekend.. i needed to wash it very quickly yesterday.. and the paint... wow, was as smooth as glass, all the salt and shite just instantly rinsed off.. and it all beaded beautifully :)

I will definantly be doing it more often!

looks fantastic R-jay.. when we swapping? ;)

Autoglym say there Extra Gloss wont take to the Ultra Deep Shine, and should be used over the Super Resin. For this reason I didnt bother with the Extra Gloss and just used some Carnuba Wax over the top instead.

Extra Gloss is a sealant containing wax. Over NXT it wont give you the 3 months odd protection it can give over the Super Resin but will gie a deep wet look.

Nice one - That's the beauty of a waxed and protected paint, even washing is easier.

I will do the swap as soon as mine is dirty again, that wont take long lol!

About 5 mins then ....

Excellent... even mine appears to stay cleaner than that ;)

She has a salty bottom at the moment.. but the white doesnt show so bad on yellow

All that cleaning practice you have done on yours off late, will be just what you need on Black (everyday!)

I will be able to go into retirement on Yellow by the sounds of it ;)

I Cleaned her especially last night as she was going out to play with a V6.. the Vee was dirty.. and the liquid looked stunning, she impressed :D

You? retire... haha, your'll go into cleaning brass or something
