182 alternator help

Hi my alternator went last week on my 182 been getting a few quotes and to be honest they are astronomical!!! Just wondered if I could give it ago??? And does anyone have the actual part number so I can go and buy it for a start! This is a big pain in the butt so any help would be much appreciated!

Best to replace the aux belt aswel, if it hasnt been done yet just get the kit, if it has been done the belt is about £17, im sure the alternator is £150 from renault.

its a relatively involved job, not something for a first timer

i've got a 172 alternator (2nd hand) that my customer will be selling shortly

i think it's more like £300+

2-2.5 hours labour, plus an aux belt (or kit dependant on condition and miles)

Also 2 options - new, or refurbed in exchange for the broken one (uses an old outer casing but new internals)

My alternator went up in smoke today! luckily i had a spare in the garage haha :d. Took me about 2 hours in the pissin rain, didnt think it was that difficult a job tbh. I took the drivers wheel off, inner arch and lower half of the belt gaurd, put a jubilee clip around the tensioner and undone the bolt at the top thus allowing me to take the belt off. undone the alternator and lifted it out (had to undo fuel rail to get it passed). new one went in a treat :d
