182 Auto Lights

  Clio 182
Hi everyone with any luck i will be picking up a 182 this weekend. The car in question has auto wipers but doesnt have the lights? Are these individual opational extras.......? New to the clios some unsure.

It has the cup suspension and wheels but no cup spoiler, again is this normal?

Any help would be really appreciated

If it has Auto wipers it will have the Auto lights.

Read the manual on how to turn them on if they are not already on.

Sounds like it has the Cup Suspension pack only.

The Cup Spoiler pack is seperate.

(Altho, when you say it has no cup spoiler, if your only talking about the front splitter it may have been damaged or never fitted)

The Cup Spoiler pack consists of the Front Splitter and Larger Rear Spoiler.

Yeah it should have automatic xenon headlights. To activate/deactivate them you need to turn your sidelights on and off twice consecutively with the engine off and ignition on. One bleep confirms deactivation and two bleeps confirm its activation.

Like Has said about the spoiler pack, should be a front splitter and rear spoiler if it has that one. Wouldn't see the point in buying one of the packs and not the two though if I bought from new!

Cheers for the replies guys, I will ask the guy then before I part with cash. So basically if its got the one it should have both. Is it possible just to have auto wipers and not the lights do you think??

Just need to make sure its all right before i pay for it, having a RAC inspection done tommorrow aswell which should pick up any problems. Any body has this done before?

Auto lights and wipers should always be together - I think the sensor (at the top of the windscreen) is all one unit. Maybe try starting the engine up and covering it over with your and for a few moments - lights should then pop on. If not, then try the switch on method as mentioned by MrSnoop above.

Thanks again for the replies guys!

I dont seem to remember seeing any sensors on the front windscreen though?? Should i be worried or could it be the windscreen has been replaced without the sensors perhaps??

I have run a hpi check on it and that came back clear, getting an inspection done asap just to make sure then the money should be handed over!

The sensor is at the top centre of the screen (where the rear view mirror is) if its got the wipers it will have the lights, the option will just be turned off (some people think the auto function is dangerous), turn on using method above.

Why don't you use this knowledge and try to haggle more of the price of the car to say it's not fully spec'd how you thought it was?

e.g. front splitter missing, no auto headlights (just activate them when you start the car leaving the forecourt) :)
