182 Cambelt Change

My 182 had the cambelt change 12k ago.
There is a slight whining noise from the cambelt side of the engine.
Just wondered if this is normal?
Also what should be changed if i do a cambelt myself in future.
Cambelt obviously! Tensioner? Idler? Water Pump?
What is necessary?
It's on 50k

I just decided to ring a few places about prices for them doing it.
K-tec Racing say they'll change cambelt, tensioner, idler and auxbelt for £421.83 all in.
I have seen people with quotes of £800 quid on here!
Is there something i haven't been quoted for that i need doing?

Also i have rung an autofactors and i can get all the bits for £126.00
I'm assuming garage rates are around £50 Per Hour so is it really a 6 hour job?

I have done cambelt changes myself in the past but is there a reason that makes these particularly difficult?

What tools are there?
Some sort of cam lock?
What else?

cam pulley lock tool, camshaft lock tool, crank locking pin

Just need to work out my options.
So how much are the renault tools?
and how much does Fred charge?

should point out that it's probably more aux belt related than cambelt anyway. I'd bet it needs new aux tensioner and idler

Ok are you refering to the whining noise?
If so do you mean the idler on the cambelt?

Didn't realise the aux belt would have an idler, sorry.

I've checked the receipt for work done and it said cambelt kit, two plugs of some sort, tensioner and idler.

That was only in march 2009 and 12 or 14k ago.

I'm guessing i should change the aux belt and the idler then at some point!

Well how much for that?

aux kit from renault is about £130, and about 1.5-2 hours for fitting
