182 de-cat advice

  Range Rover sport 4.2 S/C
Just fitted my de-cat which i bought from yozzasport very pleased with the quality great fit too

But when i took the old cat of the sensor wont come out does it matter if i leave the sensor off or will it cause problems ?

No lights have come on the dash yet

And if i need a sensor how much will it be ?

Yea its fitted to a standard not much sound differnce really sounds abit more raspy , it does feel more powerfull tho not tested it much tho has im unsure about the sensor

:bump:

Can anyone help ?

The car is back on ramps now so i could do with the help :p

any oxygen sensors upstream of the cat must be fitted to the new one. is there not a hole in your decat for it?

Yea theres a hole there but it came with a bolt in it

And the sensor is stuck in the old cat :(

The car seems to be running ok without it but i dont know if it is ok without it or not

After reading some other posts they said they didnt wire the 2nd sensor in and it doesnt affect the car in anyway can anyone confirm this ?

the second sensor (downstream one) runs the toxic fume lamp on the dash and is gay
the first sensor (upstream one) runs the engine basically

Ahhh ok i have the first (upstream one) in

So it wont cause any problems leaving the 2nd sensor out ?

Mine runs with the one nearest the manifold in the pipe. The second probe is still attatched to the loom, but taped up under the car. The hole is bolted up like yours. Job done. Mines been like this for two years with no lights on dash etc.
