182 De-Cat

  Inferno 182
a mate of mine has suggested getting a decat pipe on my 182 but was wondering whats tha advantages/disadvantages and is there really any point and if so how much are they?
cheers in advance

loads of point!!!

a) sod the climate
b) sod old people
c) sod the government

around £100

www.yozzasport.co.uk

(seriously though, it makes the car a different beast, the engine revs so much better with one)

i'm in Solihull, free fitting too!!

makes the exhaust note a wee tad louder, sounds "fruity" but not ridiculous

excellent will be in touch soon as its just a blast down tha a45,just been on your website which says staffordshire is solihull your home area then?

Do you need to worry about a remap with a decat? For safety terms I mean (AFR)? I'm sure only induction mods could affect the AFR right?

Could I expect a good gain simply by adding a deact pipe to my 182?

Could an ITG Maxogen and a decat realease, say, 10bhp?

OK so I would probably be looking at just a decat initially at least. Could I expect gains from this beyond a lot of noise?

Sweet, but keeping in mind that I actually quite like the standard exhuast note, does a decat make the Clio sound like a Nova with a drainpipe tailpipe?

You've convinced me mate. I dont need an MOT for another 2 years yet anyway so f**k that side of things. I will keep the cat should I need it come MOT time in Feb 2008 :D

What's the score with the emissions sensor? I notice the KTEC pipe doesnt seem to show a welded boss for it, but the yozzasport pipe does. Do I even need to worry about this? Sorry for all the questions and the thread hijack!

  Lionel Richie
we welded it in "just in case"

182's are strange, some throw the light up, some don't, but we think we've figured out the solution, but we're yet to test it (busy on other projects)

easy to change anyway, 2 bolts and a nut

Sweet deal. Thanks for your help. I might be ordering a pipe very soon, but I will probably fit it myself. Although expect a pm as I drive through that area quite often and I might want it fitted by the pros

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Agree on all of above....makes it sound the nuts considering its just a decat...loads more free reving too.
My emissions light still hasn't come on yet which is good news too.
Great buy for the £££

  Lionel Richie
