im thinking of doing some engine mods maybe see what andy at gdi can do, not sure what to have done tho???. ive just had a blueflame exhaust after a sports cat aswell,
Piper cams, AngelWorks manifold, SMT6, Prospeed exhaust. Cost a fair amount but made circa 197bhp iirc and drives alot nicer....had all the work carried out by Andy at GDI.
If i were you Craig i'd go for AngelWorks new cam profile, Omex600 management (jenvey body and cable throttle...nice) and then think about some good suspension.
^^^ going to see Andys demo car Friday which has the mods Gary lists. Need to price it up and see what I can afford but I think my budget will stretch to all of it but the cams. Which would be battery relocation, jenvey, omex, Angelworks manifold.
You need a budget first then go speak to someone who knows what they are doing.
It is all about cash I suppose. I could go the SMT cams route for probably a similar price to the omex jenvey route but when I have more cash to spend next year I may find I have wasted money on the SMT. There is also as you say headwork and possibly throttle bodies which may be on the list in the future as well.
It would be nice to get it all done in one go but I will have to do it in more manageable chunks.
My initial point stands though. Go down the omex route, but take cams instead of a single jenvey body. You can use a mk1 172 TB for the cable throttle swap that the omex requires.
unless you have a way of working the Rsport each time... the advantage with Omex or The SMT is after the initial installation you can remap for a much smaller fee... its also AFR mapped live on the road after any changes.... to make sure you get the best power and correct fueling to prevent engine damage.
