182 full fat drive shaft

  182
Genuine is the best route to go tbh

On any other car I would totally agree. But two genuine shafts are said to be around £500 which is ridiculous for a small hot hatch. A mild sweat builds when I think of the inevitablility of needing a gearbox refurb, new driveshafts, cambelt/dephaser service at some point if I'm to keep this car for a long time (which I intend to do).

Finding some cheaper parts suppliers makes sense, as long as they are machined to exacting specs for the specific models things should be Ok. However, I have had serious quality issues with cheap driveshafts for pugs in the past so i know what you are saying Martin.

Keep CS informed if you get them.

I tried a couple of the companies on ebay selling driveshafts for the 1*2. I got refunded after a few days from one of them as they were not actually in production and the other sent me one that didn't fit (wrong number of splines for a 1*2 hub) so that got sent back and again they said they didn't stock the item I needed. One of these was the company in the OP.

I've not been able to find a specialist that will rebuild them either, even if their website says they do, when you try to order one or ring up they don't. Also check the gearbox variant you have is what it should be if ordering from Renault, mine was from a ph1.
