182 gear box oil change ????

Does anyone know how often you should change the gear box oil in a 55reg 182 ????

I don't think it's part of the service scheldule (sp?) at all. I'd get it done as mine felt much better when i did it.

Yeah it does. Easy to change to.

had mine changed on 48k service early on in the year. will get it changed with the cambelt next.
just get it changed when you can!

i had mine done once at around 80,000 miles, purely cos i know a man that can and i'm paranoid. you shouldn't need it doing just yet

Way i look at is, the RS gearboxs are s**t, so changing the oil is a good idea as it's only about £40 to do.

I did mine recently cos the driveshaft popped out when I was taking out the passenger side strut to fit my lowering springs! Pissed oil all over my driveway!
Filling it up is fairly straight forward, remove the airbox and you'll find the filler tube, you have to remove a bung on the side of the gearbox, fill it up until oil starts to seep out of the bung and then refit the bung and top up very slightly.
Dont attempt it without a funnel, you'll make a right mess!
