182 gearbox!!!

hi guys,

in the latter months, my gearbox has started to feel sloppy and notchy, not the smooth gear changes and tight movments i had for the past year anyway.

is their anythink i can do to sort it out, maybe change the oil etc....

its done 24k now.

if i change the oil, whats the best stuff from renault i can get, or something thats reasonable in the way of price.

how much would reno charge to change the oil.

Use 75w-90 synthetic mate, Silkolene/Castrol they all produce that spec oil. The other point is if your not confident changing it yourself then personally unless you like to burn your money i wouldnt bother taking it to Renault, oil change is an oil change - find a cheap local specialist or local garage.

Its a b**ch to get to the sump plug though i thought, and when you undo the plug you SHOULD use a new washer and seal apparently. Also have to be very careful about the bearings me thinks.

I thought the drain plug was supposed to be easy to get at , just a biatch to get to the plug to fill it ?

niether are hard to get to.

Use the tranself 75-90w gearbox oil nothing else will do for the JC5-129 ,this oil was designed for this box
