182 Gearstick assembly fit mk2 ph1 1.2?

As title, reason being I bought what I thought was the gearknob from the dead 182 Matt Black was breaking and he's sent me the whole stick assembly! Before I butcher the stick to retrieve just the knob, is it possible to fit the entire stick to my car without any problems? Also if it is possible, is it difficult?

yes it will fit no problem, fitted a 172 whole stick to my girlfriends 1.2 last week as it is almost impossible to get the knob off

Is it difficult mate? I've got enough savvy to fit most stuff but I usually avoid fiddling around with engines and gearboxes if I can.

easy, you need to remove the plastic surround inside the car , then under the car remove the exhaust heatsheild near the the gear arm (4 10mm bolts) undo the 4 13mm bolts that hold it in the car and the final 13mm bolt that holds it to the selector arm.
