I always think the one thing that lets them down is the damping. My 172 feels very crashy over bumps, especially at low speeds. Seems to get better as the speeds get higher mind.

But the roads where I live are f**king awful.

Rides feels fairly hard in mine, really noticeable when I drive it straight after my 306.

Loony's H&R equipped 182, has a far better ride than the standard Cup setup!

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
try driving a type r .... one hell of a lot more crashy than a renault sport.

30 front
28 rear

Er, aren't they supposed to be 33 front 29 rear or something? I run 33/30.

Anyway, yes I find it quite a hard ride (ooooeeerrrr!) regardless of tyre pressure. Are you cupped?

I run 38 36 and didnt find it too crashy when i had my standard springs on. Depends what you have been used to before i suppose.

Great fun in the rain I expect

I think it's safe to say that generally a 182 will not 'flow' over bumps as a softer car might, but it is what it is so there isn't a lot of point worrying about it!

Running those psi's doesnt mean it handles s**t in the rain, handles great at all times and in the dry it feels so much better.

Nope, agreed, tyre wear etc influences it a lot. But it is relevant, as is the extra strain you are putting on other parts of the running gear.

The 182 ride is certainly firm but I think its fine, as for the tyre pressures they should be 33 in the front and 30 in the back

For the type of car it is it ain't ever going to be cushioning. As standard my 172 was nice. The Apex springs.. now that's crashy ;)

BTW I'm running 34f/32r pressures in 205/45/16s

My girlfriend hates the suspension in my Trophy, says it makes her feel sick!! She would rather I sold it!

I'll sell her first!!!!
