182 help (panel + chip or groupN)

  a green 1
ok, not going crazy on mods for the clio, thinking of getting an uprated panel filter (undecided on which one yet) also thinking of either getting a chip or a groupN remap,

is it worth getting it chipped, remapped if im only adding a panel filter?

What sort of gains would i realistically get?

thanks

yes its still worth remapping the car if its relativly standard.. you just wont see as much of a gain compared to having inlet work, panel filter and an aftermarket exhaust?

personally i would go for an ITG filter, most people rate then highly on here!

you would prob be looking around 180bhp with the filter an remap?

as 182's arnt always 182bhp ;)

but it all depends on how much you have to spend..

but would make an improvement, would torque increase any?

Hmm well i would go for a Green or ITG panel filter dump the acoustic valve and carbon canister. Then if you wanna keep the stock exhaust i would just fit a decat (not a great deal louder). Also not hard to fit. (stock exhaust on a 182 is very good for airflow anyway) Then maybe a remap seems kinda expensive for what they are though.

with the decat and remap, group N for instance, you'll feel the car has more power from down below. Get a ITG panel filter with these, and you'll be happy for the next couple of gallons

It felt great on my Cup, you have a nicer exhaust manifold !

That's why paul makes money.l He's like a drug dealer. No matter how much he gives them they always come back wanting more lol

Stock manifold on 182 is good, exhaust is pants, have you seen how thin the pipework is?

hi jay,

yeah put an itg panel filter in, really if your after a remap you would get better results with your filter and some kind of cat back exhaust. if you dont want to fit an exhaust (i went for a btb as it looks std and is fairly quiet) you will still get gains from a remap on a std engine.

if your thinking about an exhaust in the future wait mate, get your filter and exhaust then get the map done. if your never going to fit an aftermarket exhaust system slip in a panel filter and get it mapped and you will still see gains.

Im not sure how you can say the exhaust is pants. There would have been lots of money invested into making the best system (cost, airflow etc...) Granted you can probably get better but I doubt that the gains are worth the money. Plus youv got a horrible noisy exhaust to put up with. Stick with stock and a decat. and if the cars used for decent runs ie not to the supermarket then it'l last
