182 high idle when cold

Hello all,

Not long bought a clio 182 but have noticed idle can be irratic when cold going up and down from 1k to 2k or sometimes will just stick just under 2k until it's warmed up, any ideas what could cause this? It does also smell of petrol from the exhaust system.

Any help would be great

Normal to me, wouldn't worry unless goes on too long.

It goes down to just under 1k after about 5minutes of driving normally, seems odd the revs bouncing up and down.. It's the only one I have driven so didn't know if it was normal

Maybe clean throttle body might help fella.

Thanks for the reply and link, being a bit of a novice on the mechanical side haven't a clue where all those parts would be on the engine really
Where is the vac pipe, map sensor and air temp located? Cheers
