182 - how to lock without the alarm?

As per title really. The drivers side door has no lock, and it doesn't lock when locking the passenger door. How do you lock the car without arming the alarm? I'm looking in the 'instruction' manual but can't find anything yet - it's getting late and I need help before you're all in bed :)

turn the key on then off a couple of times...something like that...

without turning the ignition on full

That disables the interior sensors, why do you want no alarm Roy?

my apologies...i thought it turned the whole thing off...

i remember doing it a while back...you turn the key like four times...then the light flashes or something...

worked for me...(let me open my bonnet and charge the car etc with the car locked...)

Cheers guys, I'm off to give it a go. There'll be some kind of indication that it's worked I guess?

Long story short. I had my window put through and it's currently got a sheet of plastic taped around the window until I get a new glass tomorrow (was meant to be today :() Obviously not being exactly air-tight, the fookin alarm keeps going off. Disabling the sensors is exactly what I need to do...

Yeah it's two for interior sensors, three for bonnet sensor...etc...

Alarm beeps when armed to confirm which part is disabled.

Not sure if you can disable everythig?

Well thanks dudes, but nothing seemed to happen, no confirmation. I tried all sorts of combos but have no idea if anything has changed :D

Strange, I did mine the other day...turned key in the ignition twice, got out and armed it and the alarm beeped twice to confirm sensors were off. Stuck my arm in thru the open window to check! ;)

Is it an OE alarm?

Nice. It beeped 3 times when I locked it. Close enough :D Many thanks guys, you helped me out of a tight spot there :)

EDIT: Oh and thanks for moving this to the correct section. I wasn't being lazy - just needed maximum exposure, and I knew I could kind of get away with accidentally posting it in Clio general ;)

It's weather tight (up to a point) but the plastic sheet flexes in the wind, moving air inside the car and setting the alarm off.

  Clown Car
Ignition on/off twice then getting out and locking using the fob just disables the interior sensors, if you want to lock the car without arming the alarm this is what you do - sit in the passenger seat, press the lock button on the dash, open the passenger door and get out(drivers door and tailgate will remain locked), shut passenger door, then lock the door using the key in the lock barrel in the door.

Thanks again for all the help guys.

Yeah Paul. The Panzer Bean is now repaired, although considering it's not seen any soap suds for about a year, it's looking far from tip-top. Dirty Inferno with jet-black brake dust encrusted rims FTW :D It'll be getting a few bits done and a full spruce up before I get shot and get a real car ;)
