Afternoon,

Just had the car in a local garage, idle is a bit .. clunky (best way to describer it) .. and the blowers don't work ..

He gave it the once over said it looks to be in good condition, rest the idle something (which hasn't made any difference) and rest some fault codes. Told me the er.. sh!t .. I've forgot, but the thing that sits behind the air con display unit thing has gone .. and he can't get a price today ?

All the lights come on but no blowing ..and my god it's cold ..

Any thoughts ?

oh and the twisty bit on the right stalk doesn't seem to do anything ..

Film the idle and put it on youtube so we can see/hear it.

The heater thing is probably the resistor pack, loads of info on here about it if you do a search.

Will do that now, thanks and that guide is excellent .. (I might even be able to do it myself )

Question though, how do you short the pins to test the theory ? Is it as simple as pulling them out and touching them together?

Take a piece of wire and touch it across the pins

You are a legend .. so is the guy who made the thread .. that was the issue .. off to buy the 99p part now ..

Is the twisty bit on the end of the stalk or about 1/3 of the way in. If it's the one thats not on the end its to make the auto wipers more/less sensitive.

Its the one not on the end and it really doesnt do anything ..

In that case its the adjustment for the wipers on auto or intermittent - to make them wipe slow or quick.

Oh, I replaced the resistor pack and bang, all works again, this forum just saved me about £100 more than the membership costs .. Thank you
