182 lack of stopping power - soft brake pedal....

  Golf R
Right... the Trophy has 13k on it yet the brakes are shite..... especially when compared to my old Trophy and also Bubbles 182 which i also drive. In fact i'd go as far as saying the 7 year old Pug 306 i have stops better than the Trophy does - seriously!

Pads and discs still have plenty of life left in them.... the car has been into Renault for them to look at and they tell me the brakes are only 30% worn and that there are no leaks coming from the master cylinder.

What should i consider doing next - my thoughts are to bleed the brakes / change the fluid... what would anyone else do?

As it is there is very little stopping power in the car so i'd like to get something done asap

Cheers,

Gareth :)

I found that the standard pads just went 'off' after around 8 months and they were dreadful after that. I changed them and the brakes improved a lot.
