182 manifold & cat onto ph1 172

I think my cat mybe partially blocked so was going to replace it and the manifold with a 182 I know it's a b**ch to do but I know the ph1 has larger ports on the exhaust so will the manifold be the same size ?
Looked at Btb cat mod but it's £175 plus a cat say £80 and ktec sell a new cat and manifold to do the same at £300 anyone tried either ?

Hi mate,

I fitted a used OE 182 manifold (about £110) to mine with the Ktec decat conversion pipe. I have kept the 172 cat as it can be modifed to fit on the 182 manifold. This way it will fit the normal 172 exhaust (cat-back).

I fitted the 182 manifold and the KTR conversion cat to my 172 ph2. Works without problems. Regarding the exhaust ports: Mine were widenend up to the gasket size, which is the same size as the manifold ports. Ph1 ports can't be bigger than that, so will fit perfectly.

Well: ph1 and ph2 manifolds are the same. 182 manifold has the same flange as the 172 manifold, same gasket aswell. My car's ports are enlarged and they are the same size or even bigger than the ph1 ports and they are the same size as the manifold ports. Normally the manifold ports are bigger than the head ports.
