Was wondering if a standard 182 cat would fit if Im putting a 182 manifold onto my 172, or would I need a Ktec equivalent sports cat or decat. And also am I right in thinking the standard 182 cat is basically a 200 cell sports cat.
It will fit indeed, just will need to work the existing line to acommodate them as they will sit further behind against the 172 setup.
182 CAT is more than up to the job, no need to swap it and I think it is even better than decat, as it has been proved decat will lost torque for just 1 - 2 hps at top end.
yeh the 182 cat is a 200cell as far as i know and i think you will need to adapt the end of the 182 cat as i think the 172 exhausts have a different adaptor/fitting (or different lengths as above)
i'm in the same boat and want to use my 182 cat with a 182 manifold and 172 exhaust
I am thinking of doing this as well. I was going to buy a 182 manifold from a friend, buy a ktec 182 sports cat and then put on a stainless exhaust system.
Does the ktec 182 sports cat upgrade to go with the manifold not fit directly onto a 172 exhaust as it says it does on the ktec site?????
