182 Manifold

Hi guys
Just wondering if any1 has tried an 182 manifold on a 172, i herd on here that this is where most of the power increase from the 182 come from.

Would this be a worthwhile mod?

Yes mate
This is my next buy after Ive got all my induction sorted.
Yeah it will fit but you'll need a custom zorst to mate up with it because it wont match with a 172 sports cat or zorst.
K-Tec are shortly going to be offering this as a package for the 172 but Im going all custom anyway ;)

It is a better manifold as its a 4-2-1 but its also a lot of work to do as engine out job
the manifold is gonna cost you £250 and i think k-tec are goona charge about £350 to change it then a custom exhaust say £350 =so thats roughly £950 for around 10bhp

You can see gains of 10bhp from a ported inlet manifold which will cost you less than £200

  172 cup'd extreme
you dont need to take the engine out at all just drop the subframe. i got my 182 manifold for £200 from a chap in france did all the work myself and just cut and welded the 172 exhaust to fit. and it dont gove 10bhp more like 5bhp so if you get some monkeys like k-tec to do it , its not really worth it as matty says the inlet work is better

Ben R on here does it. Scroll down this page a little and you should see a thread detailing the impovements it can make.

Roughly how much longer is a 182 manifold compaired to a 172 one ?? How much would i have to lop off the zorst ??

Also would the hangers have to be modded at all ??

I went to price a 182 manifold up from my local Renault dealer and they wanted 400+ !!!

I was on about 10bhp with a the manifold and sports exhaust, even if you can do it by dropping the subframe someone who's not mechanically minded is still gonna have to pay someone to do it for them and modify the exhaust.

nick at hillpower did my inlet manifold he charged £130 with new gaskets when he had a special offer on
