182 misfire/god knows :)

hi, yet another post lol i have got a problem with my 182 basically it sounds really rough , its juddering round more than it should, its got worse in the last day , it started off making an noise when i was accelarting at 3000 rpm + sounded like a misfire ,checked the plugs an they seem fine , any ideas what it could be as i am supposed be making a trip to skeggy on sat , thanks

well i have only had a clio sport for a week, but i had same problem and now its sorted after alot of messing about with icv tdc sensors airfilters and egr cleaning, turns out it was cam seals on side of block that had blown hope that helps !

the coil itself? when my 1.2 was misfiring i changed it and job sorted

Quite possibly coil pack, if its just at 3k rpm I would imagine pre cat lambda

If it was my car I wouldn't be planning any kind of journey in it with a problem like this. Get it looked at properly; one of my customers had a Megane 16v which wasn't running quite right and several garages had taken a look at it all with differing diagnosis's from H02 sensors, blocked CAT's to faulty cam position sensors. Turned out the timing was way out!

My mate used his diagnostics an it didnt show any fault codes at all , i also switched the lamba in the manifold with the 1 in the decat pipe it didnt sound as rough after but its still doing the misfire type thing at mid-high revs , could it be the fact tht i have a decat pipe on or would this not affect it

no fault codes, it could be HT leads faulty, it could have the wrong spark plugs in or your timing could be well off
