182 - MOT Fail

  Clio 182
Hey Guys...

Had the 182 MOT'd today thinking every thing would be fine..... to find that it needs new shocks all round and one of my springs has completely snapped off.

Only having the car 2 weeks i hadn't noticed..... Is this an expensive repair? and could I do it myself?

any one got any tips?

cheers guys!

First be of advice, pay up the forum membership fee and you will save yourself a fortune with the purchase of the parts you need with the club discounts!

As for cost to repair, few ways you can go about it:

1: buy a used set of shocks and springs from a forum member and fit yourself - cheapest option.

2: buy new shocks and springs from Renault - not cheap

3: buy coilovers from a trader on here and have one of the specialists fit them - option I would go for depending on budget.

new dampers from renault are about £180 for all four, springs you may as well buy a set of eibach sportlines, as new springs from renault are about £80 just for one spring, eibach springs are £135

also you get a 12month warranty with renault
