182 or CTR?

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Bit on the expensive side for the moment, coz they've only been recently released.

I guess you can, but the only thing stopping me from buying a 182 is the size of it. :(

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Do you actually need a bigger car ?

I dont NEED a bigger car, but would like a bigger car, because it looks quite uncomfry for the passengers behind me, when i have a car full of people. Plus imo, when i get a new car, it'll have to be bigger, aswell as better.

the size of the engine makes up for the size of the exterior ;)
Its more about the size of the interior for me. The old Corsa is about the same size, but the interior is much bigger. i think.

a 52 plate is an early one:)

Yup

for me i would sum the 182 up as a b road thrasher, its the kind of car you can go rag down some back roads late at night and its perfect, the civic is better day to day and imo the better all round car but just lacks slightly in the handling department.

Quite diff cars, CTR is better all round car, but 182 is def the better hot hatch. CTR has horrible steering. I've got a copy of EVO with there long term test summary of the CTR, amongst other things the build quality of a lot of readers cars wasn't great (lose body kits, lots of stone chips on roof), and dealership service was poor. I went for 1*2's (twice) after driving pre and post facelift CTR's, just more fun and better equipped.

you have a test summary lol, you really need to live with a car to pass judgement imo.The civic is the better hot hatch, clio is a better drivers car

?? how is the civic a better hot hatch if the clio is the better drivers car? Hot hatches are all about the drive. The test summary was a long term (>1 years) test, and the emails received were from CTR owners! I'm not baching the CTR, as I said a better car (for reliability etc) but it's not faultless. For me, the two most important factors in a car are the steering quality and the engine quality. The CTR has awful steering but a magnificent engine, the 182 much better steering and a decent engine. Try them both, then go from there.

Mixed opinions so far Haz!

Id go with what most agree on which is to drive both cars & go from there.

I like the CTR ticks all the boxes etc but have never driven one so cant comment only with a biased view of a that a 182 is the shizzle haha !

Yea i am test dricing a 182 on Saturday hopefully.

And i will test drive the CTR afterwards.

And compared. From what i hear, i reckon i will have more fun in the 182 than the CTR, but the CTR is winning so far coz of the differetiation from my 1.2

Because imo a hot hatch has to do everything,if i purely wanted a drivers car i would get an exige or a westfield etc. Day to day driving, going to work, having people in the back is all part of what a hot hatch should do and the civic does them better

Its true i have gone against a type R flat out in my previous 182 and they just slowy crawl away so by the time you count over 120 jelly babies on your dash the CTR is about 5-6 car lengths a head.

This has happend more than once. They just have the edge but in reality there is not alt in it.

End of the day the Clio will give you more bang for your buck..

Anyway you should not compare the CTR to a clio, you should compare it against a turbo meggy as they are the same class. A clio is just a hot super mini.

Rick try giving it ago in my(EX) mk1 172, You will be surpised lol.

Thanks for the tip Ray, The 172 feels uber quick upto 100 then seems to die, but its al about the 0-100 ! ;)

your after a track car and you know that car pulls very strong mid range which is handy coming out corners. hope your enjoying it. the 182 doesnt seem to have that pull like the mk1 172 however it handles great and after *** keeps pulling & pulling. better then the 172.
