182 Rear axle on my 1.4 - edde?

Straight swop.
Its not easy to change you'd need good tools depends where you live I'd be interested so will help out.

  Audi TT 3.2 V6
this the same for a 1.2? would mind one myself tbh..purely for the cosmetic factor of having disks all round..plus disks are easier 2 change than shoes :)

Yep same.

Drums are better IMO. There cheaper to replace, last longer, and less problems I wanted drums on my Williams which was used on track.

Cheers edde. Im doing it for cosmetic/ my drums are rubbish. and been offered a 182 rear axle for a good price.

im in essex! no where near chester! but im coming to chester on monday and doing oulton park on tuesday.

what needs to be done, unbolt rear axle, dissconnect lines. fit new one and connect the brake lines etc?

Yep thats the basic idea. I'll have a look tomorrow what needs to be done.
Whilsts the ABS shouldn't be an issue as the sensors are the same I think I have a safe way of switiching off the ABS.

switching it off just on the rear!?!
Nope disconnecting the brake sensors. to the ABS computers.
Don't try this I still need to do some investigation to see if it would work.
There not cheap though rear axles with all the bits £200 would be a complete bargin expect more like £500.

about £150 second hand, brand new conversions were on ebay for about £700 a while ago i think it was from Matt Blacks company, never really thought about getting one second hard untill now so i dont no how much they go for. but 150 seams ok.

Edit im looking at about £170 posted to me then + fitting. and id perfer to keep my abs!

  172 cup'd extreme
its easy , 4 bolts hold it on 16mm . you will need 2 hand brake cables (£50) the ABS sensors plug straight in to the old ones as do the brake pipes.
did this conversion a few months back took me an hour to do whole rear beam was £200 from matt blacks place, although i went a chose a good one as some times parts from there are broken ie the abs sensors just choped off , as matt says it all depends on who is breaking it.

with the ABS if you switch it off the brakes will become unbias'd as the bosch abs pump distributes the bias you will need to get some sort of bias valve in there as a clio with no ABS and unbias's brakes is scarey trust me i have experienced it
