182 Recaro Seats

Hi. Just a quick one to see what everyones view is of the Renault option for replacing the front seats with Recaros? Anyone had it done as the factory option? is it worth it and what they like? Cheers

They are well worth the money, much more suportive and you feel more part of the car. on the down side you lose the airbags which means the car drops from a 4star NCAP too a 3 star, but if you are looking to take the car on track i would definatly think about putting them in.

My 182 Cup doesnt have recaros and it doesnt have side airbags, but its still 4* on NCAP

AFAIK it carries the same rating as the highest rated car in its model range, even if it doesnt have the same safety features.

It wont make a blind bit of difference with the insurance, its just something to take into considerastion if you have a family.

Roy I think you may be right but when i spoke to Directline they did mention that it wouldnt be a 4star but in terms of insurance as it was a std model from Renault this wouldnt cause any changes in my policy.

could you fit some aftermarket, say they were renault ones and get reno to fit them to a 172cup and maybe you wouldnt get a price hike on the insurance ?

Cheers so far. Has anyone else got any or seen any fitted? What they like for comfort and support? Can you still get in the back ok? I know the back seats are down graded, but how do they look? Do the look ok or totally s***t!? Ordering new 182 this weekend so trying to decide if I want to spec them (already specd the cup packs)! Cheers.

Picked new car up on friday night. Spec'd the recaros in the end. Extremly pleased I did, the look and feel great!!!! As for the different back seat it does not look to bad and anyway when your in the front driving seat you are not looking at you back seat! Seats fantastic, cars fantastic. Well pleased.

Glad your happy. I personally hate the "bench" like look of the back seats. But i wouldnt mind a set of recaros for sure

is it not just dynamique seats you get in theback with the recaros?

Not sure what model they are out of. Dont mind the fact that the do not split fold and got no head rests, just the fabric is my only bug bear. Might see about getting the recovered in time to match the fronts. Another way of looking at it is if you had rear head rests it would obscure the view of the recaros for the person in the car behind you just left for dead! This way they got a better view!!!
