182 recirculation flap building fault.

My car seems to be stemming up!
I've been doing loads of searching and tried all the suggestions.

Last night I did a little investigation while looking under the steering

wheel at the flap I noticed something.. I've attached a photo it looks like when the car was being built theirs a plastic lug that hasn't gone through the guide hole.

Just wondering if it's meant to go through the hole? As it seems to not allow the recirculation flap to fully open.

I've tried pulling it but seems to be pretty wedged in. Any suggestions!

How easy is it to remove the recirculation flap?

I just leave mine in the open position and forget about it.

I just leave mine in the open position and forget about it.

I leave mine in the open position but that lug stops the flap from fully opening the flap. Just wondering if it's normal.

Anyone know hot to get to the flap. Other then underneath the steering wheel? Is it a matter of removing scuttle panel, fan motor?
