  182 Turbo Project
How ironic is your username...

Anyways. Why not just get used to the 182 before 'modding' it. I've waited two years to boost mine.

Please stop shouting.

Bershire? Anywhere near Berkshire?

Try using the search function mate.

It's quieter yes.

But srs.

Please use the search button, you will find all the information you need.

It has more than likely been covered before.

This will end well.

If you can't be bothered to find out for yourself, why do you want to do it in the first place?

Good luck.

I'm out.

People on here like the RStuner mate.
From what I gather it is a device that you can download maps onto and then upload them to your car via the EOBD port.
I think they are around £200 new and come with a licence that allows you to put your maps on one car.
People tend to sell them on here (You will have to join and pay a membership) but they sell them with no licences, which means you will have to buy one from Fastchip themselves.

I believe there are some companies on here that do remaps and rolling roads. I believe one of them is JMS.

Hope that helps mate.

There is no point in remapping a standard car.

What other modifications are you planning? What sort of power are you after.

Mapping is the last thing I shall be doing :race:

Remapping a standard engine will gather little gains my friend! Normally aspirated cars rely on cubic capacity for GO as im sure you're aware!

A calibration "map" on a standard car will add a couple of extra horses at the peak power end of the scale, what 90% of the people on here don't consider is the changes it makes to the entire power curve, especially the increase in torque below 5,000 rpm & the cold start improvements, as with any n/a vehicle you can't compare the gains to forced induction as it's a different playing field!

Imo, it's a waste of money on a standard car.

If it was something like uprated filter, exhaust, decat etc then maybe.

  182 Turbo Project
Obviously though some people might see it as worthwhile if it is something they could offer/sell....:rasp:

You need to decide what route you want to take.

The standard ECU can adjust to filter and exhaust changes, but still would benefit from a map - bear in mind the basics are it will drive smoother but not feel a huge faster.

If you want cams, throttle bodies etc then keep your cash in your pocket and wait untill those mods are carried out - you wouldnt stick a new set of tyres on your car if you were buying some new wheels in a months time would you? Mapping a car when you want to tune it further is the same
